Jacketing is used to strengthen weak RCC columns which have been deteriorated over a period of time due to adverse atmospheric conditions or due to poor maintenance.
In this method weak concrete is totally removed. Rusted rebars are also removed. Extra rebars are provided and total sectional are is increased to increase compressive strength of columns. Extra rebars are provided with stirrups and connected to old concrete with shear keys. Bond coat is applied on old concrete surface and polymer concrete is poured in form work.
